We Suffered For What You Now Enjoy -D’Banj To Mavin Crew

While speculations on the comeback of Don Jazzy and D’Banj remain, D’Banj has taken his time to advice the trio of Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and Di’Ja.
D’Banj spoke about how tough it was when he started out with Don Jazzy. He said the duo suffered for what Don Jazzy’s now protégés enjoy today.

We Suffered For What You Now Enjoy -D’Banj To Mavin Crew

He said this at 2Face Idibia’s 40th birthday celebration at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He commended Don Jazzy’s new acts for their efforts and encouraged them to do more in other to keep the momentum going. He noted that the Mavin crew are benefiting from the previous labour of their boss as they earn recommendations and recognition without stress.

Don Jazzy: Loved By Many, Imitated By Some, Endorsed By Brands

Don Jazzy has built his reputation so well everything he touches nearly becomes gold. There are a number of factors that have contributed to his overall acclaim till date.

Don Jazzy: Loved By Many, Imitated By Some, Endorsed By Brands

Producer/ label executive Don Jazzy
In the dynamic age of media dominance on perception, celebrity image and street appeal the Mavins honcho has leveraged the powers of the internet and social media and is creaming off duly.
Armed with killer music instincts that have seen him come tops in at least two major music phases in the Nigerian entertainment industry, it is no wonder Jazzy is the guy everyone wants a signature from today.
Let’s digress a bit to 2004; when the music industry was fledgling and we witnessed the emergence of Don Jazzy and erstwhile partner Dbanj fresh from London. There was not an inch of space for any returnees but the pair would go on to form a movement that remains iconic in the nation’s history.
The duo sang and performed around the world under the defunct Mo’ Hits imprint, driving hundreds of thousands to euphoria and animation whenever they came on stage with the tingly Tongolo, the impressive Mr Endowed, not to forget the evergreen Fall In Love, amongst other hits.
In between, the music mavin birthed other names in Wande Coal, SID, Tiwa Savage and D’Prince, erasing suspicions of being a flash in the pan.
The lustrous Oliver Twist comes to mind as one writes this but because the song peaked around 2012, a period characterized by the Mo’Hits split; and it isn’t so easy sipping the juicy Afro Pop hit in this discourse as it leaves in its wake bitter-sweet memories.
Oliver Twist went on to become a world smash record, but we barely saw the duo render it on any stage in those hyperactive, charmingly entertaining displays because things had fallen apart.
Today, we have Korede Bello, Di’ja and Reekado Banks walking into the party which already has a lethal Tiwa-SID-D’Prince combination; helping the collective Mavins Records buzz go ‘off the hinges’ as they say in street parlance.
And so the beat maker remains a subject of analyses today in our flickering entertainment industry, because he understands the showmanship as well as the business aspects of things.
From multiplatinum hit songs to a shiny public image, we have seen him ink a deal or two with some of the finest corporate brands around.
It is all to easy for the man these days, so when Johnnie Walker recently unveiled him as ambassador in a new campaign, it doesn’t come as anything surprising.
He is a man of many flaws but he will be remembered for his music, the adaptive innovation as well as an astute business sense.
At present, he is breeding a whole new team and hopes are high, with expectations that they eclipse the antecedents.
Adenike Adebola, a marketing executive at Johnnie Walker, explained this innovation and passion in the man as reasons behind selecting him to represent the liquor brand.
She said: Don Jazzy has experienced different phases of success in his career up till now. He is a true achiever, a game changer and a model to emulate. He is passionate about what he does and it is that passion we celebrate. We believe he will be instrumental in propagating the message and inspiring the rest of Nigeria with our core message that  ‘Joy Will Take You Further.’”
Johnnie Walker is a Scotch whisky made by Diageo. The brand is widely distributed in the world, with an estimated over-300 million bottles bought yearly.

In a twist, a retired police officer has come out to say what he knows about the death of Tupac.
According to an ex-cop, David Myers claimed that he assisted Shakur to fake his own death 19 years ago!
The ex-cop who is presently bed ridden and is trying to make restitution with God and man alleged that the sum of $1.5m was given to him to certify the death of the rapper in the 1996 shooting that was said to have led to the death of the rapper.

The ailing ex-cop also said that Suge Knight, a one-time close friend of Shakur and Death Row Records founder who is currently in jail awaiting trial for murder, played a key role in faking his friend’s death. He claims Shakur paid $50,000 for a body double to be taken to the morgue.
The sick ex-cop said: “The world needs to know what I did. I’m ashamed that I let a price be put on my word and I cannot die without letting the world know.”
He also indicted 30 people who he claimed help fake the rapper’s death and they include police officers, medics and multiple eye witnesses.
Shakur is known for his explicit and controversial lyrics. He was embroiled in a feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers, becoming involved in conflicts with other rappers, producers and record-label staff members, most notably The Notorious B.I.G. and the label Bad Boy Records.
Shakur has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.
On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Prior his death, he was at the Mike Tyson vs Bruce Sheldon boxing match with Knight and was involved in an altercation with gang member Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson.
A short while later, while en route to night club a car pulled up alongside Shakur’s while he was standing with his head out of the sunroof in the company of Knight and unknown occupants shot him, hitting him in the chest, pelvis, right hand, thigh and lung.
